In a dreamlike setting, at the entrance of the Centovalli (the valley of the hundred valleys), this historic stone house awaits you right next to the imposing Ponte dei Cavalli bridge. The wild rocky beaches of the river Isorno below the house promise adventure and romance. You will be enchanted.
The 7 room house (part of the house) for 7-8 persons is distributed over 4 floors and consists of two living rooms and a fully equipped kitchen-living room, 4 double bedrooms and a single room with cot. Bath / WC and shower / WC and a separate guest toilet. Furnished private terrace and garden sitting area with pergola and stone table as well as private access to the river Isorno with its wild romantic beaches.
The large stone house was once a pasta factory, hence the name Pastificio Vecchio. It is situated directly on the imposing Ponte dei Cavalli bridge, where there used to be a post office with horses. The entire property was bought in the 70s by the architect Tobias Ammann, lovingly renovated and converted into individual apartments and holiday homes.
The Centovalli is known for its Centovalli Railway, which is very popular with tourists and runs from Locarno to Domodossola Italy on an adventurous railway line. The valley also boasts attractions such as the world-famous Teatro Dimitri, the ancient Via del Mercato between Camedo and Intragna or Rasa, a tiny village set on a natural terrace in the middle of pastures and woods, a jewel that can only be reached on foot or by cable car. Various activities like climbing, llama trekking etc. The region is a paradise for hiking and nature lovers.
