Termas da Azenha: Palmeira is a lovely familyhouse, with nice, original tiles. There is a living and kitchen all-in-one. The living has a couch, a lazy chair, some small tables, a satelite TV and WiFi (wireless internet).Kitchen fully equiped with microwave, fridge and coffeemachine.
The kitchenpart has a dining table and all crockery, cutlery, pots and pans and glasses you need. Cosy bedrooms: one double bedroom, one children´s room with bunkbed and a single bed. Bathroom with beautiful mosaics, a bath and a shower, a washstand and toilet.
The weather permits you to stay outside a lot, f.i. on the terrace, close to the children´s patio. There you find an enclosed area where your children can play safely. There are two swimmingpools, a seperate one for the children. The pools are filled with the pure mineralwater of the Termas and are filtered in a natural way.
In the Termas, you can have massages. We do hotstone, shiatsu, footmassages, sportsmassage, relaxingmassage. The water has healing powers, and is curing for skindeseases. For ages, the Portuguese come and have treatments here. We have some treatments available: massages, mudbaths and scrubs. You can make an appointment in the reception.
In the Termas, you can have a lot of fun. We offer a game room with pingpong, foossball, pool and chess; outside there's a volleyball field, an archery track, petanque track and a mini golf. We offer massages. We do shiatsu, sportsmassage, relaxingmassage. We offer workshops mosaic. There are the big mosaics on the various terraces around the pool.
Termas-da-Azenha lies in the center of Portugal, situated in a beautiful valley, approximately 17 km of the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. Termas-da-Azenha is a former spa-resort, and the water is still of a very good quality (tested every year).
The medicinal water from our springs is therefore an extra attraction. The bathhouse has now 4 recuperated baths. The history of this resort is one of hunderds of years.
Our spa is only used as game room, museum and community room in our little holiday village, but 500 metres further down the road you can go to a modern one and enjoy a sauna, turkish bath or the jacuzzi in the pool. Ask at our reception.

Our Termas da Azenha is situated in a rural area, fields and forested slopes, but not so far away from the attractions of the beaches of Figueira da Foz and Costa de Lavos or the rich culture of Coimbra and Conimbriga.
Lots of birds to spot here: blue kingfisher, heron, stork and even flamingo, as all kinds of small birds nesting on our property.
The area is very well suited for walks, bikerides, running and geocaching.
The vicinity of the beautiful Atlantic coast make it a perfect place for nature and sun lovers. The beach of Figueira da Foz for a beach with attractions, the quiet beach of Costa de Lavos to see the fishermen come back with their catch, Costa Cova and Cabedelo for the surf lovers, and Costa de Buarcos to play with your children between the enormous rocks.
There's more: Coimbra, the city of universities is only 25 miles away. The excavations of the ancient Roman stronghold of Conimbriga are a mere 16 miles away. The famous pilgrimage city of Fatima, the monastery of Batalha, the former castle in Buçaco and the thermal baths of Curia and Luso are less than one hour away by car.

Figueira da Foz
Thanks to fishing and shipping in the 18th century Figueira has become what it is today. A relatively large city that is well equipped with shops, small places, nightlife, and a promenade. Figueiras and face of the city's main attraction will always be the vast, clean and beautiful beach that stretches along the entire length of the city. The summer season attracts many holidaymakers to Portugal Figueira. This makes for a lively beach atmosphere with many sports that are played there. Figueira is host to many festivals, theater and its famous casino. The Lighthouse Museum and the town of Paco de Maiorca are also worth a visit.
Montemor's character is mainly dominated by the ruins of a castle of the 11th century. The castle was built around the city from attacks by the pagans to protect. Aveiro is located at the end of the Rua do Aveiro, a road that winds its way along the salt lakes, bays and canals. Mosteiro da Batalha

Since we are on the border between forest and water, we have two ecosystems with a very rich mix of flora and fauna. This area alone is home to some 300 species of birds, many birds are impressive to watch and easy to regularly visit our meadows, blue kingfishers, herons, storks and flamingos. There are a wide variety of pines, fruit trees and deciduous trees. The rivers and estuaries around our bath house are full of all sorts of fish, crayfish, shrimp and frogs. We also observe foxes, rabbits, hares and bats. The area in the valley is often used for fishing and hunting.
The area is ideal for day hiking, biking and geocaching.
The surroundings of the beautiful Atlantic Coast, Figueira da Foz and the quiet beaches of Lavos and Leirosa make it a perfect place for nature lovers and sun seekers who come to enjoy the fresh air and time for themselves. The medical water is therefore an additional attraction. Although the bathhouse the last 10 years before we settled here was not properly used, we receive daily, however, local guests and some of them come from far away to a few liters of water to take home with them or even a healing spring water bath with take.
