Djursland is the “nose” of Jutland, and here you are able to experience all types of Danish nature in one place. Nature is lush with beautiful landscapes and big forest areas. In Mols you can go for a trip in one of the most undulating areas in Denmark called Mols Bjerge (Mols Mountains) or you can visit charming Ebeltoft with the famous Frigate Jutland.
It is a splendid idea to get to know the fantastic nature from a bike, and Djursland has a lot of trails guiding you round the landscape. You must try the Gjerrildbanestien, which runs along the former railway track from Gjerrild in the north eastern part to Ryomgård in the middle of Djursland.
In the southern part of Djursland you will find Mols. A great part of Mols is consisting in the national park called Mols Bjerge, established in 2008. Here you will find some of the most beautiful and unique nature in Denmark. The most well-known area is Agri Bavnehøj – a137 meter high hill – and the highest point in the landscape. The national park also houses an animal park, Ree Park, with more than a hundred animal species. You may also visit the wonderful Stubbe sø (lake), the biggest lake in Djursland.
South of the Mols Bjerge national park you will find Ebeltoft, the most important town of the Mols area. Ebeltoft has an interesting glass museum, the only Danish museum with a collection of glass art, and then of course the fantastic Frigate Jutland, which took part in the Schleswig wars in the 19th century. Each year Ebeltoft is visited by a great number of tourists that enjoy the fine beaches of the area, the charming life in the cosy town and last, but not least, the national park, Mols Bjerge. From Ebeltoft you can go by the ferry to Sealand.
