Description

When comimg from the Gotthard in direction to south, you hardly miss the white little church San Martino of Calonico, which is situated proudly on a rock, high above the street and the railway. Perhaps you also would like to stay there?

The left part of the 300 years old ticino-gotthard-house is situated at the village square of the small leventina village on 1000m above sealevel. It is cosy and well furnished. Above the house you find a garden with beautiful view to the mountains. Calonico is surrounded by meadows and chestnut woods. At the edge of the village there is an old cerealmill. The house is located at the famous hiking route "Strada alta", a classic route of the Swiss hiking tourism.

In Calonico you find rest and relaxation, it is possible to make lots of excursions in the whole Ticino by public transportation.In the Valley Leventina there are many touristic possibilities: mountains, cottages, mountain lakes, creeks, passes, cable cars, churches, museums and a varied cycling route from Airolo to Biasca. Numerous culture events during the summertime in the whole valley.
