Cortijo la Venta is believed to be one of the oldest houses in the area. The name 'Venta' (shop) suggests that this house was an inn, where walking and horse riding travellers would have rested for a night or two on their long journey to Granada, Sevilla or Africa.

La Venta had recently almost fallen into total disrepair when it was bought by someone with a passionate love for this region. The restoration is now complete. Today this 9 room big house is fully equipped to fulfill the requirements of modern life, while the solumn and impressive original style of the house was faithfully respected. With a personal touch, too: one can see the original rocks preserved in some rooms, giving to the whole house a unique and inimitable atmosphere.
