| The town of Viechtach is situated in the district of Regen at the valley loop of the „Schwarzer Regen“ river and is a state-acknowledged climatic spa. It is one of the most popular holidaying destinations in the Bavarian Forest thanks to its mild weather in autumn and in spring as well as its lovely surroundings and its well-developed infrastructure. The area around Viechtal is also known for its outstanding culinary tradition. The town’s heated open air swimming pool is considered one of the most beautiful ones in the whole of Eastern Bavaria (situated some three kilometres out of town) with its 50m pool, a non-swimmer’s pool, a diving pool, a 36m aqua slide etc.Regular as well as non-regular cyclists alike are welcome to try out of the many cycling routes in the area, as are hiking fans who want to discover the breathtaking landscape, while anglers and those just wanting to enjoy a quiet boat tour are likely to be attracted by the 6 kilometre long Lake Höllenstein. But there are also tennis courts, a mini golf course, bowling facilities and a horse-riding schools to be found in Viechtach. The skiing regions of Pröller (some 12 kilometres away) and Arber (35 km) as well as numerous cross-country skiing runs attract many a winter sports fan into the region. Furnishings On the town’s edge of Viechtach, dominated by a tranquil and magnificent forest atmosphere, you will find this holiday park which has won numerous accolades for its child-friendliness. The park consists of some 30 apartments and has a reception area, a restaurant catering for breakfast or halb-board visitors, Kneipp basin, romper, basement garage, an indoor swimming pool with sauna, steam bath and solarium (chargeable), a large adventure playground, football area, sled slope (directly adjacent to the holiday park), basketball basket, table tennis facilities. Sports equipment such as soccer balls, table tennis and badminton bats, bocce etc.) can be borrowed on site while appointments can be made for wellness treatments such as massages, facials, chiropody and cosmetic treatments (chargeable). The organization “Kinderland Bayern” has awarded the holiday park with the second highest classification possible. With a floor space of some 40 m² the two-room apartments consist of a bedroom with two double bed and a combined living area / bedroom with a double bed or a double sleeping couch, a well-equipped kitchenette (fridge, percolator, toaster, 2-plate stove etc.) and a dinette. There is also a bathroom with a shower or tub and WC, balcony or terrace.
