"La Vicinia" is a beautiful self-catering medieval house with garden set in a wonderful natural and historical environment belonging to the ancient complex of the Castle of Strassoldo di Sopra.
The castle itself is a real "borgo" formed by the main building where the counts of Strassoldo still live, "La Vicinia", the old tower, the church of St. Nikolaus, the stables, the granaries, the rice mill, the archives and the guards' houses.
The complex is surrounded by lovely gardens crossed by spring-water streams and rivers.
The counts of Strassoldo have recently renovated many parts of the castle and offer the following accommodation to guests:

WHAT STRASSOLDO AND THE REGION HAVE TO OFFER:
The castle of Strassoldo di Sopra is a great place to live the charm of a private castle, rest, make nice walks, reach the nearby sand beach of Grado (18 km) and dive into the flair of a region which is not overrun by tourists and has: many important historical sites, a lovely nature with many different beautiful landscapes from high mountains to rolling hills, green plains and rock or sand beaches, excellent rural restaurants and renown wine producers.
GEOGRAFICAL POSITION:
Strassoldo is in a very central position near to the ancient Roman colony of Aquileia (14 km), the Adria beach of Grado (18 km), the beautiful towns of Udine (25 km), Trieste (38 km), Gorizia (28 km), Venice (90 km), the marvellous Adriatic Gulf (25 km), Slovenia (35 km) and Austria (100 km).
HOW TO REACH STRASSOLDO:
By car taking the A4 highway Venice-Trieste and then the exit of Palmanova. After leaving the highway turn right heading towards Cervignano-Grado and after 4 km turn left taking the entrance of the village of Strassoldo. The castle is in the centre of the village near to the church.
