South west of Marseille between the Estaque and Carro, the Côte Bleue is known for its rocky coastline interupted with creeks and inlets host to pretty little beaches and sparkling blue shallows. The higher mountainous lands are covered by chalky hillsides and dry pine forests. Lesser known than the Côte d'Azur or the Calanques of Cassis, the Côte Bleue quieter beaches, and hidden hillside havens where walkers can head towards one of the inlets away from the eyes of the rest of the tourist world.
