La Morra (513 m), 15 km südlich von Alba, thront auf einer Hügelkuppe, in einzigartiger Aussichtslage über die Landschaft der Langhe mit ihren Weinbergen und kleinen Ortschaften. Die Piazza Castello, der höchste Punkt des Ortes, ist eingerahmt von Pfarrkirche, stattlichem Rathaus und der Chiesa della Confraternità. Im Ort gute Restaurants, Bars, Geschäfte, Önotheken und die Gemeindekellerei mit kleinem Fremdenverkehrsamt. Der 'Sentiero del Baralo', ein schöner Spazierweg, führt von La Morra aus über kleine Feldwege durch die Weinberge des Barolo-Gebietes, vorbei am Weiler Annunziata mit einer ehemaligen Abtei aus dem 15. Jhdt., die ein Weinmuseum beherbergt. Sehenswert das Dorf Barolo (6 km) mit Schloss und 'Enoteca Regionale', die mächtigen Burgen von Serralunga (20 km), Castiglione Falletto (11 km) und Grinzane Cavour (8 km). Empfehlenswerte Ausflüge in die nahen Städte Alba mit hübschen Geschäften, Bra (15 km) und Cherasco (9 km). In Barolo öffentliches Hotel-Freischwimmbad (ca. Anfang Juni bis Mitte September).

Piemont
