On the region: At the edge of the Gironde, the Dordogne and the Lot-et-Garonne in the Dordogne valley, amidst the vineyards of Sainte Foy – Bordeaux. It is an ideal area with many activities. Besides several kinds of water sports (canooing, kayaking, river cruising on the Dordogne) there are beautiful hiking routes along the banks of the Dordogne and through the countryside, as well as mountain biking and horse riding. Sainte Foy La Grande (3 km) on the Dordogne is a small fortress from the 13th century, with narrow alleys, timber framed houses and a square surrounded by galleries. On saturday mornings there is a colorful market. Located between the vineyards of Monbazillac and Saint–Emilion, here you can taste great wines and a fantastic cuisine.
