| Casa Paola is situated in Pratolungo-Pettenasco. This is at the Lake Orta, west of Lake Maggiore. Pratolungo is a restful little village with 100 residents, located on the hillside, approx. 150m higher than Pettenasco and the Lake Orta. Casa Paola at Via Principale 23 is situated in the old village center of Pratolungo, a bit above the main road. It is a typical big house of the area with 2 parts. The owners live with their 2 school kids in the front part. There are two holiday apartments available, which can be rented separately or together. They are both in the attic. A lot of care has been taken to show nice details of the old structure, yet to transform it in a modern beautiful and charming living space. The apartment A for 4 persons is located in the attic of the rear part of the house. It consists of one large main living/dining room shaped like an L with kitchenette and balcony towards southeast; one double bedroom; and a bathroom with a small tub/shower. There is a pullout sofa (= double bed) and a sat-TV in the living room. A flight of stairs leads from the living room up to a small and low gallery, where 1-2 mattresses can be placed. Kids love this corner for sleeping and playing. The apartment B borders on apartment A, but is located a few steps lower in the attic of the front part of the house. This one-room apartment for 1-2 persons consists of one living/bedroom with a separate bathroom (with shower) and a balcony towards south. It is furnished with a pullout sofa (= double bed 140 cm), a kitchenette, a dining table and a TV. Guests can co-use the owners' bicycles (2 for adults and 3 for children), washing machine, as well as the garden including a barbecue. Incidentally, the hens and cats of the house enjoy the garden, too. Pratolungo is suitable for nature lovers and an ideal starting point for numerous hikes. Chestnut forests begin by the house, the waterfalls of the river Pescone and the lake are easily accessible on foot. In the apartment, there are detailled informations, descriptions of hikes and hiking maps available. If you travel by train, you take the local train Domodossola-Novara and get off at Pettenasco. From Pettenasco you reach Pratolungo within a 30min. walk on the old connecting road. In the same village we let other apartments suitable for 2-6 people (see also object number 2602, 1732). |
