House and Region:
Villa Le Tolé is a unique contemporary Provencal house, built in a quiet hillside residential area above the village of La Londe les Maures. The villa faces South, Southwest and offers breathtaking views over 30 kilometers of the French Riviera Coast, the beautiful islands of the "Iles d'Or" and the lovely Maures Hills.
La Londe les Maures is situated between the charming classic Provencal village Bormes les Mimosas and the ancient small city of Hyères, some 45 minutes from St.Tropez, 20 minutes from the local airport at Hyères/Toulon, a little closer to Marseille than to Nice.
Villa Le Tolé was built in 1999 on four half levels and is of the classic contemporary style with a large open plan kitchen, dining room opening to spacious terraces (250 square meters), partly covered. Living room on mezzanine. All four bedrooms are facing South and open each to the pool side terraces (three) or a deck (one) and are well shaded by Venetian style arches. Two large Tunesian style shower rooms, three water closets. The inside living area covers 200 square meters.
In the lower floor, there is a utility area with washing and drying facilities, as well as a garage. Home water is softened. All rooms have electrical central floor heating for winter use and security shutters. The covered terrace offers excessive space for dining and relaxing, and stunning views over coast and islands. Outside are a heated Jacuzzi, curved pool, terraces with garden furnitures, gas barbecue.
Internet and Telephone:
Optionally, the broadband internet access can be hired as well as the home telephone.
Pool and Garden:
The pool water is treated with an automated salt electrolytic system and is not chlorinated. Therefore sensitive eyes and skin are not affected. The jacuzzi is heated throughout the year to 37°C (energy costs inclusive). Pool heating on demand at additional costs (flat rate).
The terraced garden all around the house (2800 square meters) is planted with orange and lemon trees, rose laurels, cypresses, palm trees, pines, cork oak trees, olive trees, mimosas... and other mediterranean species. It is green and in flower all year round.
Staying Home or Going Out?
The "Valcros" golf club is nearby, nice and beautiful beaches are very close and invite for relaxing days. Local markets are always worth to be visited, as well as the charming restaurants with their regional cuisine. But, staying home always gives the ultimate feeling of vacation: relaxing on the terraces, overlooking kilometers of coastline and watching the time go by. Why not enjoy a sunset dinner on the terrace, prepared and cooked for you by a local chef? And then at nighttime, sitting in the heated Jacuzzi and counting the stars above...
Golf information:
A short car drive takes you to the golf course Valcros, a 18-hole-course constructed in the 60-ies. It is beautifully imbedded in the natural surroundings, never a bore but varied and: it is open during 12 months. It is free of passing traffic, and also free of all those villas built almost into the fairways. The club atmosphere is at ease, and the restaurant offers terrific but simple regional cuisine. Other nice golf courses in the region: St. Endréol, Beauvallon, Valescure etc. Seasonal edge periods like October/November as well as March/April/May offer ideal conditions for golfers on the French Riviera: it's not too hot, the courses are not too crowded and: the jacuzzi is nice warm and the pool heated on demand!
