This attractive vacation home in the Swiss Alps is located at an altitude of 4,290 ft
just above the village of Lauenen, four miles south of Gstaad. From its sunny spot on a hillside at the edge of the woods it offers an unimpeded view of some of the most striking peaks of the Bernese Oberland. The house is surrounded by an alpine meadow, ideal for children both in summer and winter, for playing in the woods and at the nearby brook, or for sledding and skiing.
It’s easy to walk from your vacation home to a nearby nature preserve and to the lovely Lake Lauenen. More ambitious hikes may lead you over mountain passes onto minor peaks, to a mountain shelter or to the village of Lenk in a neighboring valley. High alpine tours to the Wildhorn or Geltenhorn are also possible. In the winter, walks and cross-country ski trails lead you through wonderlands of snow and rocks and frozen brooks. You may take the horse sled to Lake Lauenen or try ski touring on easy to demanding routes. There is an easy slope with skilift for beginners and youngsters in the village and hourly buses to Gstaad and its vast and varied offerings of lifts and downhill runs.
The vacation home Trüttli may be reached from the village in ten minutes on foot or on a small road by all-terrain-vehicle. There is free parking in the village and free transportation of luggage between the parking lot and the house.
The farm house was built about 200 years ago, now provides ten beds: eight beds in four bedrooms,two beds in the living room(and 2 camping beds). There are two baths with showers and tubs. Heating is done with a woodstove and with electricity. In the house is also a private 2-rooms-appartement, that is sometimes occupated.
The house is owned by the Perreten family, local farmers, who will provide organic milk, alpine cheese, and veal to your household, if so desired.
